This year Susan has been working
on her next book, ‘Saul’s Children,’ compiling an anthology
of her poetry, and writing a text book ‘Beginning to write,’
a practical course book for the absolute beginner. This book will accompany
her popular ‘Beginning to Write Course’ which she runs in the
autumn of each year at the United Reform Church for six weeks.
This year she was commissioned to write a poem for ‘Naturally Writing
Heals’ a national Conference on arts in health care, taking as its
theme the uses of natural imagery in creative writing to improve health
and well-being, held at the Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday 14 October.
Keynote speakers were Penelope Shuttle and Richard Maybe.
International day for the disabled was marked by an information display
and poetry performance at the Cross Keys Shopping Mall where Susan was invited
to read some of her poems.
This year, Salisbury Writers have published their first Anthology, ‘Inkspots,’
edited by Susan. Copies are available from the Cross Keys Bookshop, priced
